Main Purpose of Job

This position serves as the agency's Assistant Director for Administration. The position ensures the effective and efficient use of all financial and material resources; the delivery of quality services to the public; and to assist the Director and Executive Staff in the support of agency operations. The position enhances the delivery of customer service by proving efficient management of the following departments: Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Procurement, and Facility's Operation.

POSITION DUTIES

Oversees and manages Human Resources, Finance, Procurement, Information Technology and building operations; provides supervision on policies and procedures applicable to State, and Federal laws; oversees the development and implementation of plans to improve job performance, and participating administrative responsibilities to insure adequate and improved job performance.  This position may also manage the daily operations of the Agency in the Director's absence.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  Possession of a Bachelors Degree in Business, Business Administration, Finance, Public Policy or a related field.

Experience:  Five (5) years of administrative or professional work to include the supervision of other employees, overseeing and coordinating the general operations of a department or unit, applying rules and regulations and exercising responsibility for the development of policies or procedures.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will possess the following: 

Experience in planning, organizing, staffing, leading and/or directing staff to accomplish agency goals and objectives.

Experience in developing and monitoring budgets; overseeing procurement and contract monitoring; and facility operations.

Master's degree in Business, Business Administration, Finance, Public Policy or a related field.
