Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to manage the oversight and performance of the Maryland Commitment's to Veterans (MCV) program. Supervise staff located in 4 regions of the State, work with other state agencies and external partners on veteran issues, manages the annual budget, and analyzes MCV program data. MCV connects veterans and their families to behavioral health resources either through the VA Health Care System or MDH's Behavioral Health Administration.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A Bachelor's degree in health or human services field and 4 years of professional experience in health or human services is required.  At least 2 years of experience must include working in area of providing health services, developing initiatives or community programming services to support veterans.  Candidates must also have two years of experience managing or supervising employees.

Candidates may substitute US Armed Forces military experience on a year for year bases for the required education or experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate will have experience managing a budget, developing policies, procedures and advocating for veterans and their families.

SELECTION PROCESS

This is a Management Service position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.  A resume must accompany your application.
