Main Purpose of Job

The primary focus of this position is to support the Office of Workforce Development (OWD)and statewide One Stop Operations with the development, implementation and evaluation of Business Services unit, including creating and maintaining employer relationships, utilizing labor market research to inform outreach strategies, developing innovative ways to market business programs and services.

POSITION DUTIES

  • Develops an annual action plan with metrics to direct the activities of the regional offices.  The annual plan reflects the goals and objectives of the Office of Business development.
  • Develops strategies that maximize delivery of services to Maryland's business community.
  • Provides statewide direction, communication and ensures the promotion of all employer focused programs.  Ensures the local BRRs are coordinating the statewide outreach plan to employers and supports the BBRs in reaching goals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Possession of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration or Human Services or a combination of military and/or educational experience functionally equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree.

Experience:

Six years of experience in an administrative or professional work capacity. Two years of this experience must have involved one or more of the following: the supervision of other employees, overseeing and coordinating the general operations of a unity developing and providing training for staff.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

One year sales and/or workforce development experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

One year experience leading a regional sales team.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

All candidates are subject to a background check against files maintained by the Division of Unemployment Insurance (DLLR/DUI) to determine whether any monies are owed to DLLR/DUI as a result of an unemployment insurance overpayment and/or fraud. Any unpaid debt may have an impact on whether or not a candidate is offered employment.
