Main Purpose of Job
The position is responsible for the organizational efficiency and administrative operations of the Family Preservation Bureau within the Child, Adult and Family Services Division. It establishes overall policies and procedures for the program(s), oversees implementation and approves revisions. It establishes program goals, standards and controls to meet program objectives. It oversees and manages the personnel and financial resources of the program(s), develops short and long-range plans for program operations and resources. It determines organizational structure and staffing needs of the program(s). It oversees development and training of program staff - plans, coordinates, supervises and evaluates the work of subordinate supervisors; and it represents the department in a liaison capacity with managers and officials of other agencies concerning program activities.
POSITION DUTIES
Manages and leads programs and new initiatives in order to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity in the delivery of services through process evaluation, maximizing resources. Manages and leads employee performance to assure that standards are met and to develop, evaluate, motivate and promote individual and departmental goal attainment. Manages and monitors all program specific funds to ensure appropriate utilization of funds for service delivery in accordance with federal, state, county, agency and other applicable policies, procedures and guidelines. Creates, maintains and strengthens relationships with internal and external stakeholders to endure that high quality services are delivered to customers in accordance with Child, Adult and Family Services Divisions strategic goals.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Masters Degree in a human services field to include Social Work, Criminal Justice, Education, Psychology, Counseling, or Nursing.
Experience: Eight (8) years of experience providing services in cases involving at least one of the following: suspected child or adult abuse or neglect; out of home placement; guardianship; emergency protective order; adoption; or juvenile justice services. Five (5) years of the above experience must have been in an administrative, supervisory, or consultative capacity.
Notes: Candidates who have not already done so must complete an approved training program and pass a competency test. Employees are required to meet mandatory standards for continuing education as determined by the Department of Human Resources.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Strong preference will be given to applicants that possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding the qualifications.
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or License Clinical Social Worker-Clinical (LCSW-C) in the State of Maryland.
LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION
Candidates must be willing to accept employment in Prince George's County.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
