Main Purpose of Job

This position will be responsible for all aspects of the agency's main function and purpose - Workers' Compensation Claims Management.  In addition, this position also serves as the agency's Procurement Officer, and, therefore, is responsible for drafting Requests for Proposals (RFPs), participating in and managing the RFP evaluation process and monitoring and evaluating vendors in contract performance. This position reports directly to the agency's Executive Director and is second in standing to the position of the Executive Director.

This is a Management Service position and serves at the pleasure of the appointing authority.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  Possession of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience:  Five years of experience in third party claims administration and/or workers' compensation claims management. 

Note:  Candidates may substitute additional experience as described above on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

One year of experience in drafting and/or evaluating Requests for Proposals (RFPs).

Experience in managing all aspects of third-party claims administration and/or workers' compensation claims management.

Experience participating in and managing the RFP evaluation process.

Experience monitoring and evaluating vendors in contract performance.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification will be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
