Main Purpose of Job

This position supervises employees in the Legal Measures Division of the Central Collection Unit and works directly with the Director of the Legal Measures Division. This position has responsibilities which include operations such as planning and administering TRIP procedures, including various investigations. This position evaluates and makes a determination regarding settlement negotiations and settlements of CCU debts coordinated with the Director of Legal Measures. This position develops and oversees policy for quality control and review of all cases submitted and/or drafted for litigation by the OAG assigned to CCU and ensures that a 90% accuracy rate is followed on all submissions and that all necessary documentation is provided for litigation cases.

This is a special appointment position that will service at the pleasure of the appointing authority.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Four years of experience in administrative staff or professional work.

Notes:

1. Additional experience in administrative staff or professional work may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester credit hours on a year to year basis for the required general experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year to year basis for the required education and experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Four years of supervisory experience.

Bachelor’s Degree.

Experience with Maryland litigation and legal processes.
