Introduction
The Office of the State Prosecutor is seeking an Investigator Analyst Auditor to assist the office with the investigation and prosecution of criminal activities related to public corruption within the State of Maryland. This position will provide support for attorneys in the investigation and prosecution of various offenses including bribery, theft, extortion, tax evasion, and campaign finance violations.
This is a Special Appointment position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.

Main Purpose of Job
This position provides investigative support for the Office of the State Prosecutor and reports directly to the Chief Investigator. This position is responsible for client interviews. report writing, research, assistance with trial prep and any other duties deemed necessary to complete and investigation.
POSITION DUTIES
Responsibilities will include the seizure and analysis of criminal evidence, particularly financial records, interview and interrogation of witness, victims and suspects, as well as assisting prosecutors with trial preparation and testifying before grand jury and in criminal trials.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in accounting or criminal justice with emphasis in accounting or investigations and evidence analysis.
Experience: Four years of experience in administrative staff or professional work. One year of this experience must have involved one or more of the following: overseeing and coordinating the general operation of a unit, applying rules and regulations, or exercising responsibility for the development of policies or procedures.
Notes:
1. Additional experience in administrative staff or professional work may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester credit hours on a year-for-year basis for the required general experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in forensics with an emphasis in accounting or equivalent law enforcement experience.

Due to the confidential nature of the work, selected candidates must undergo and pass a criminal background check.
