Main Purpose of Job

This position serves as the Director of Finance and reports directly to the Executive Director of the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission. The main purpose of this position is to direct and coordinate fiscal activities to include planning and development, preparation submission, and implementation of the Commission's operating budget , as well as oversee all financial activities of the Commission. Additionally, this position oversees and assists in day to day operation of the commission including personnel, accounts receivable, accounts payable, revenue transactions and assists management staff in exercising budgetary control of expenditures within each department of the Commission.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or other related major; Five years of budget management or procurement/contract experience, three of which must have included supervision at the management/leadership level.

A CPA Certificate or a Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Public Administration will substitute for one year of the general experience. Applicants who met the CPA exam admission requirement prior to July 1, 1974 will meet the above education requirements.

This is a Special Appointment position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.  A resume must accompany your application.
