All MPT internships are unpaid. An internship that is not for academic credit is deemed a volunteer.

Main Purpose of Job
Maryland Public Television offers full- and part-time internships for college students throughout the year. Internships are specifically designed to provide training and experience for students interested in public broadcasting.
POSITION DUTIES
This internship provides the student an opportunity to experience the environment and work of a communications team within a not-for profit organization, while participating in the following duties and activities: Support Communications staff with ongoing or new projects, projects may include but are not limited to: project-related research, writing and editing of communication products (both external and internal), work with media monitoring/ clipping system, support fulfillment of media requests, database creation and updates; Assistance with planning internal and external events and observances; Provide ad hoc support for senior leadership; Participate in meetings associated with assigned tasks.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Qualified candidates must meet the following criteria:
Students must be a Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior or Graduate of a college, university, or trade school who must be able to commit to a minimum of 16 hours per week and have reliable transportation.

For education obtained outside the U.S., a copy of the equivalent American education as determined by a foreign credential evaluation service must accompany the application.

Preferred Majors: Journalism, Public Relations, Mass Communication
