LOCATION OF POSITION

MDH/Worcester County Health Department (All Sites), Behavioral Health Unit, Snow Hill, Maryland

Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position will be to work directly with mothers of young children to provide health and disease prevention information and to assist them in adopting healthy lifestyles. This position will also assist in preparing and/or assembling materials for health education and promotion sessions. This position may be called upon to explain and/or reinforce the health care services and any resources available to persons needing assistance and available to assist with referring individuals to public and/or private resources within the community. This position may require work and/or travel to all sites of the WCHD.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: None. 

Notes: Candidates may substitute experience providing assistance to individuals in a health care or social services setting on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.

SELECTION PROCESS

Candidates may remain on the certified eligible list for a period of at least one year. The resulting eligible list may be used for other positions at this and other agencies.
