Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position will be to provide individual and/or group counseling and to review symptoms to form diagnosis for the Behavioral Health Program. This position will also work to coordinate referrals and services through the Behavioral Health outpatient program and collaborate in partnership with other agencies in order to improve the functioning of the individual served. This position will also work with the specialty populations including the sex offender and anger management groups. This position may require travel to all sites of the Worcester County Health Department (WCHD).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists under the requirements for Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC).

Experience: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists under the requirements for Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC).

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. In accordance with Health Occupations Title 17 and Code of Maryland Regulations 10.58.01.05, candidates placed in this classification must be licensed by the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). **A copy of your current licensure should accompany your completed application.**

2. Candidates appointed to positions in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
