Main Purpose of Job

To provide clerical support to the Inventory Department in the way of calculating and entries of all in-house purchase orders, verification and filing of all pertinent documents.

POSITION DUTIES

- All in-house purchase orders are being addressed and processed on a daily basics. Preparing all activities for batching weekly, to be incorporated into a monthly report. 

- Verification of all assigned inventory transaction registers (ITR) and making all necessary corrections on inventory batch logs. 

- Closing of all inventory transaction registers used by Maryland Correctional Industries plants that are on line at the end of each day. 

- Filing of all pre-numbered documents, used by plants to report daily activities performed i.e. (Receiving Reports, Raw Material Inventory Withdrawals, Component Part Withdrawals and Stock Movement Reports) numerically. 

- Reconcile the Month End Reports submitted by plants (Finished Goods, Raw Material & Packing) 

- Sign in all pre-numbered documents (Stock Movements, Raw Material and Receiving Reports) into the accountability book. 

- Routine and miscellaneous assignments completed in a timely fashion, when required. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two years experience in general services functions, office administration activities or in the receiving, storing, issuance, purchase or requisition of equipment, materials, and parts and supplies.

Note:

1. Additional experience as stated above may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in logistics specialist classifications or administrative support specialty codes in the logistics field of work, on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- One year of experience dealing with the disposal and inventory control of property at any governmental level.
- One year of experience with proprietary inventory databases. 
- Experience creating Microsoft documents to include Word and Excel.
