Introduction
This is a position specific recruitment for the Maryland Department of the Environment/Water and Science Administration. This recruitment will be used to fill current and future vacancies for this position/function only. The resulting cert list will be maintained for one year. Persons interested in future vacancies within the classification must re-apply.
This recruitment is limited to Maryland State employees only.

Main Purpose of Job
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: One year of experience in budget preparation, presentation and execution.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute 30 semester hours of graduate education in accounting, business administration, economics, finance, political science or public administration for the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute additional experience as defined above on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in the Budget Officer classifications or Financial Management specialty codes in the Budgeting field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
It is preferred that the selected candidate has the following:
- Proficiency in Excel;
- Experience in grant management;
- Experience in contract management;
- Experience in accounts payable;
- Experience in procurement processing;
- Experience with State of Maryland Financial Management Information Systems- R*Starts;
- Experience with State of Maryland Financial Management Information Systems- Adpics;
- Ability to multitask.
