Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to provide nutritious, sanitary and safe meals for the individuals at the Regional Institute for Children and Adolescent and Noyes Children Center. This position directs Dietary employees in the preparation, assembly and service of food, along with the cleaning and sanitation of the work area, equipment and dining facilities. This position supports the mission of the facility by ensuring that each individual at the Regional Institute for Children and Adolescents and Noyes Children Center receives the correct meals and snacks according to the Federal Child Nutrition Program, Physician orders and individual nutritional needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two years of experience in food production or service for a large scale food service operation.

Notes: 1. Candidates may substitute additional experience in food production or service for a large scale food service operation on a year-for-year basis for up to four years of the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute additional education in the area of food service management, nutritional care, institutional administration or a related area on a year-for-year basis for up to two years of the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Food Preparation and Serving classifications or Food Preparation and Serving specialty codes in the Food Service field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
