Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position is to coordinate all necessary aspects of the Nurturing Program including recruitment, program development and implementation, and statistical program compliance. Assist with outreach to existing parenting programs, review on-going needs and communicate those needs to planning groups in Talbot County in order to promote healthy family functioning.
POSITION DUTIES
Assist with administration of the program by coordinating parent education groups, enlisting the support of schools, public and community agencies; provide ongoing assessment of parental education trends in Talbot County. Consult and collaborate with local community agencies in order to recruit potential families to the program. Provide list of resources and services available in the community for parents and their families. Recruit facilitators.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: One year of experience in the administration of a human services program or experience conducting studies and analyses of programs, procedures, practices and organizations.
Notes:
1. Additional professional or technical experience in the administration of a human services program or experience conducting studies and analyses of programs, procedures, practices and organizations may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Applicants may substitute education at the graduate level at an accredited college or university in a human services related field at the rate of 30 semester hours per year for the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Administrative Officer classification or Administrative Office specialty codes in the General, Administrative, Clerical and Office Services field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.
1. One year of experience working with family and children programs at a local Department of Social Services.
2. One year of experience collaborating with community partners to develop programs.
