Introduction
This is a position specific recruitment for the Maryland Department of the Environment. This recruitment will be used to fill current and future vacancies for this position/function only. The resulting cert list will be maintained for one year. Person's interested in future vacancies within the classification must re-apply.

Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position is to provide administrative support to the Permit Services Office of the Technical Support Division/Air Quality Permits Program. The incumbent of this position is responsible for preparing invoices and tracking receipts, and entering detailed information into multiple databases. The incumbent is responsible for the administrative functions associated with air quality permit to construct applications, General Permit Requests for Coverage, processing State Permit to Operate and federal Title V- Part 70 renewal packages. The incumbent will also be responsible for records management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Completion of 60 credit hours at an accredited college or university.
Experience: One year of experience in administrative or professional work.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute experience as defined above for the required education at the rate of one year of experience for 30 credit hours, for up to 60 credit hours of required education.
2. Candidates may substitute 90 credit hours at an accredited college or university for the required education and experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
It is preferred that the selected candidate has the following:

Experience using databases to enter information or locate information used in making decision;

Experience processing invoices;and

Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational, proofreading, and multi-tasking skills.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
