Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position is to perform administrative duties and some fiscal oversight, including maintaining the integrity of the Maryland Medicaid Program by ensuring proper program procedures. Specifically, this position will oversee the execution of all phases of more than 85 Non-Nursing Facility Cost Settlements and appeals; submit quarterly Non-Nursing Overpayment memos; monitor BHA Cost Settlements for receipts and payments within the AP/AR ledger, including monthly reconciliations and the analysis for FMIS activity. This position is also responsible for the review and confirmation process regarding the Federally Qualified Health Centers supplemental payments to MCO's, including ensuring that all encounter data matches MCO's and preparing payment memos for Budget Accounting and Revenue Department.
Education: Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
Experience: Three years experience in administrative or professional work.
Notes: 1. Candidates may substitute additional experience in administrative staff or professional work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Candidates may substitute additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester credit hours for each year of the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included the regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.
The selected candidate will possess one or more years of the following:
collection experience (i.e., customer service regarding collection issues, processing refunds, reviewing adjustments, resolving discrepancies)
Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable experience
experience creating Word and Excel documents
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The desired candidate should possess the following:
knowledge of and/or experience with FMIS
knowledge of and/or experience with behavioral health
legal research experience
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
