SDAT is seeking an experienced and energetic individual to fill the position of Administrative Officer III in their Office of Information Technology Unit.
ABOUT US
The Maryland State Department of Assessments and Taxation was established in 1959 and was assigned the administrative functions formerly given to the State Tax Commission. The Department has broad responsibilities including: (1) assessing all real property in the State, (2) supervising the real and personal property tax structure of the State, (3) creating and maintaining State records that establish corporations and other business entities, (4) administering programs for State property tax exemptions and credits, and (5) publishing statistics and reports.
This is a Position Specific recruitment for the State Department of Assessments and Taxation-Office of Information Technology.

Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
Management of information technology and telecommunications (voice) systems, equipment software licenses and line activities for all of State Department of Assessments and Taxation (SDAT) locations.
Participating in accounts payable activities for the purpose of approving vendor payment invoices.
Participating in Agency procurement activities with responsibility for procuring information technology and telecommunications equipment, supplies and services.
Performing audits of agency invoices related to information technology and telecommunication systems, equipment, software.
Administrative duties.
Special Projects/Assignments.
Responsible for ordering, maintain and cataloging agency inventory.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
Experience: Three years experience in administrative or professional work.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute additional experience in administrative staff or professional work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Candidates may substitute additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester credit hours for each year of the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included the regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Desired or Preferred
Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
Organized and able to handle multiple projects at the same time
Experience working with computers and different software including Microsoft. Office and entering data into a data base.
Experience working with G Suite (Formerly Google Apps for Work).
Experience with telecommunications systems.
Experience creating details reports and giving presentations.
Comfortable with public speaking.
Experience with training people and creating user guides.

Must be willing to work in Baltimore City.
