Applicants must be willing to work at both the Frederick and Columbia Campuses.

Main Purpose of Job

The candidate selected for this position will be responsible to manage administrative operations and provide support to the chief Operating Officer for the ongoing operation of the school as well as supervise the Food Service Departments on both campuses.  Successful candidate will be required to work on the Columbia Campus at least one day per week.

POSITION DUTIES

Manage federal and state compliance for Medical Assistance billing. Review billing notes and Individual Education Plans for compliance. Represent the school at interagency audits and develop and administer corrective action plans.

Supervise the food service departments to include resolving issues between food service department and instructional and athletic departments.  Monitor the department for compliance with the Child Nutrition Program.

Develop, coordinate and monitor the AED program, insure the program is in compliance which includes monthly testing.  Maintain the CPR/AED certification database for both campuses.

Manage the school’s card key system and issue new and replacement badges for staff.

Maintain apartment leases for on campus housing.

Responsible for school insurance claims.

Serve as fleet manager to include maintaining a list of eligible drivers for both campuses.

Provide administrative support to the Chief Operating Officer and handle special projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of the principles and practices of public and business administration, including the processes of planning, organizing, staffing, directing and controlling.

Knowledge of the basic uses and capabilities of computers and information technology including Word and Excel.

Ability to prepare and present reports or recommendations clearly and concisely.

Knowledge of the basic principles of accounting, budgeting, fiscal controls and statistics.

Ability to interpret and apply a variety of laws, rules and regulations, standards and procedures.

Ability to prepare accurate work-flow charts, organization charts and other analytical aides.

Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with co-workers and the general public.

Ability to plan, organize and direct the work of others.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

Experience: Three years experience in administrative or professional work.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute additional experience in administrative staff or professional work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

 2. Candidates may substitute additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester credit hours for each year of the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included the regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.  

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Must be willing to learn to communicate in American Sign Language.

Experience in the Food Service Industry preferred.

Three years of supervisory experience preferred.

Experience with spreadsheets and medical billing a plus.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

New hires are subject to a criminal background investigation at their own expense.  (Maryland Code, Family Law Article 1, Sections 5-560-568.)
