Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position is to identify and recruit potential Resource Parents and to encourage their retention by providing retention activities and events for current foster parents.
POSITION DUTIES
This position develops, plans, schedules and participates in recruitment events/activities; sets-up, monitors and breaks-down table/displays at various recruitment events/activities; identifies potential resource parents for specific populations targeted by the supervisor/administration; and maintains recruitment database.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with at least 30 semester credit hours in one or more of the following subjects: English, journalism, public relations, writing or other similar and related courses.
Experience: Three years experience in public information, public relations, journalism or other related experience in publicity or promotional work.
Note:
1. Applicants may substitute additional experience as described above for the required college education on a year-for year basis.
2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in public affairs classification or public affairs specialty codes in the information and arts field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.
SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

One year of experience gathering and assembling information for the purpose of making public presentations.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.
1. One year of experience with community teamwork, engagements and building partnerships with business leaders, heads of organizations, and key contacts.
2. Two years experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Google Sheets.
3. Knowledgeable about foster care processes as related to the agency's needs for appropriate resource homes.
4. Excellent customer service, written, and oral communication skills.
