MDH/Prevention and Health Promotion Administration, Family and Community Health Services/Maternal and Child Health (MCH), Baltimore, Maryland

Main Purpose of Job

This position will lead, support, monitor, and coordinate a wide range of complex strategic health policy and planning activities related to home visiting services, as well as maternal and child health promotion, with particular emphasis on evaluating, analyzing and developing policies which address public health challenges presented by at-risk indicators of health (per the state home visiting needs assessment) in the state of Maryland.

This position will also work closely with the Maternal, Infant and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) team and grant programs to support evidence-based home visiting program data collection, as well as best practices and policy efforts related to home visiting.

Finally, this position will assist with monitoring performance measures, grant reporting, responding to legislative requests, and writing the bi-annual report for home visiting to the Governor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: One year of experience evaluating, analyzing, researching, and developing health care services, policies and programs.

Note: A Master's degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy, or a closely related field may be substituted for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should have a Master's degree in Public Policy or Public Health. He/she should also have writing experience, as well as experience collecting and managing data, and working in an evidence-based Home Visiting program.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
