Main Purpose of Job

This position will be responsible for addressing high priority projects, which include the evaluation, analysis, research and development of health care services and policies within Policy and Compliance. This position will act as a Medicaid provider enrollment broker for the Maryland Medicaid Electronic Health Records (EHR) Incentive Program. This position will also assist with the direction and coordination of Program policy, compliance, coverage and reimbursement for programs within the Office of Health Services (OHS), particularly in how policies relate to Health Information Technology (HIT) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) implementation. This position will work in conjunction with Provider Enrollment to communicate with providers to verify and achieve eligibility for participation in the EHR Incentive Program, maintain contact with various contractors hired to help administer the Maryland Medicaid EHR Incentive Program, Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) vendors, and the Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) to analyze and anticipate the impact of EHR Incentive Program policy on the Medicaid Program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: One year of experience evaluating, analyzing, researching and developing health care services, policies and programs.

 Note:  A Master's degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field may be substituted for the required experience.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
