LOCATION OF POSITION

Main Purpose of Job
The purpose of this position is to organize and coordinate all supply and services within the Military Department/Freestate ChalleNGe Academy. The branch is responsible for supply stock control and property management.
POSITION DUTIES
Plans and carries out the logistic services in Freestate ChalleNGe Academy.
Maintains hand receipts for items issued to all staff and cadets.
Receives, transports and stores materials, supplies and equipment.
Inspects and inventories materials, supplies and equipment for serviceability and quantity.
Assembles, process documents and routes materials, supplies and equipment to correct locations or storage areas.
Ensures the statutory responsibilities for the receiving and accounting for the state property is met.
Restocks areas when supplies/inventories run low.
Maintains and supervises the maintenance of linen, blanket and clothing inventories.
Required to go to various vendors to coordinate purchases and pick up supplies.
Prepares requisitions/purchase requests as necessary.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a State high school equivalence certificate.
Experience: Four years of experience in the disposal of surplus equipment, materials and supplies.
Notes:
1. Education at an accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester credit hours for each year of experience, for up to 2 years of the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Supply and Logistics classifications or Supply and Materials Control and Management specialty codes in the supply field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties may be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Some positions in this classification are assigned duties which require the individual to be examined by a physician after an offer of employment, applicants for such positions will be given a medical examination to certify the ability to perform the essential job functions.
