Main Purpose of Job
The Administrator I position is a mixed duties position and the main purpose is to provide confidential investigative services and programs specialist monitoring unique to the Department of Juvenile Services, under the authority delegated from the Secretary to the Office of the Inspector General (OIG).
POSITION DUTIES
The primary investigations functions of the Administrator I position are to conduct inquires related to: allegations of administrative and/or criminal violations against employees and service providers; collusion, corruption; misappropriation of Department assets; mismanagement, fraud, waste, and abuse of authority with State-operated facilities and those operated by private vendors under contract to the State. Investigators functions include, but are not limited to, program monitoring, evaluating effectiveness, providing technical assistance and quality improvement. The ideal candidate will possess experience in law enforcement conducting criminal investigations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Four years of experience in administrative staff or professional work.
Notes:
1. Additional experience in administrative staff or professional work may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester credit hours on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in law enforcement conducting criminal investigations.
Two or more years of experience in administrative or criminal investigations.
