Main Purpose of Job

This position is mainly responsible for the managerial supervision of all non-clinical department heads responsible for providing essential services in the everyday operations within Springfield Hospital Center, an inpatient psychiatric hospital operated by the State of Maryland. This position bears full administrative responsibility for all non-clinical activity in the facility to include Accounting, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Nutrition Services, Procurement, and Transportation. Springfield Hospital Center employs approximately 700 staff and operates with an annual budget of approximately $73 million. This position receives managerial supervision from the Chief Executive Officer and is considered Emergency Essential. This position serves as a member of the hospital's executive leadership body.


Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a health, human service or management field and five years of professional experience in health or human services, including two years at a managerial or supervisory level.  Experience managing or supervising one or more hospital or residential care facility support service units or departments is desirable. 

A related master’s degree will substitute for one year of general experience. Additional administrative experience will substitute year for year for the college degree.


This is a Management Service position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.  A resume must accompany your application.
