Introduction

This is a position specific recruitment for the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, Fishing and Boating Services. This recruitment will be used to fill current vacancies for the position and may be used to fill future vacancies in the same classification/function. Future vacancies may also be filled via other recruitments. The resulting eligible list will be maintained for one year.

LOCATION OF POSITION

580 Taylor Avenue, Annapolis, MD 21401 (Anne Arundel County)

POSITION DUTIES

This position serves as the Inventory and Telecommunications Manager for the Finance and Administration division within the unit. The position provides direct administrative support independently managing the unit's inventory, Information Technology (IT), and fleet resources in addition to various administrative duties. This position holds unit-wide responsibility serving 160 unit employees throughout the 17 office locations. By providing excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders, the incumbent's job functions directly support DNR's mission to preserve, protect, restore, and enhance the State's natural resources.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

Experience: Two years experience in administrative or professional work.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute additional experience in administrative staff or professional work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester credit hours for each year of the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience using the State's Financial Management Information System, R*STARS, ADPICS
Experience with the State's Fleet Management Program
Experience with the State's Corporate Purchasing Card Program
Experience with the Department of Natural Resources eQuip inventory system

Limited to Maryland Department of Natural Resources employees only.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
