Main Purpose of Job

Supports the Archives statutory mandate to provide reliable and easily accessible descriptions of the structure and function of Maryland State, county and municipal government in the Maryland Manual On-Line, gathers, evaluates, writes and edits information used in the text.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:   A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Three years of professional archival experience.

Notes:

1. A Master's degree in Archival Science from an accredited college or university or its equivalent may be substituted for one year of the required experience.

2. Applicants may substitute additional experience in professional archival work with public records on a year-for-year-basis for the required education.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Archivist classifications or Archivist specialty codes in the Library and Archives field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

Experience editing materials for publication (i.e., manuals and Internet content)

Experience providing help desk support

Experience with Microsoft Office
