LOCATION OF POSITION

7800 Harkins Rd Lanham, MD 20706.

The Department of Housing and Community Development Headquarters is located in Prince George's County across from the New Carrollton Metro stop.

POSITION DUTIES

The main purpose of this job is to monitor expenditures and report on various aspects of the federal grant programs, analyze pertinent information for resource and management purposes, and evaluate grant proposals. Activities will involve facilitating effective management of all rental assistance programs administered by Multifamily Housing-Rental Services including the Housing Choice Voucher, Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing, Family Unification, and similar rental assistance programs. This position also assists with other grant programs the unit may acquire and provides oversight for agency grant administrators' and subcontractor grant administrators' reports as well as detailed analysis of these reports.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A bachelor's degree in business administration, construction management, finance, economics, real estate, accounting, architecture or any other related field.

Experience: Three years of experience evaluating the risk involved in granting single family, multifamily and commercial loans, government assistance programs, and or construction management

Note:

1. Additional experience described above may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in loan specialist classification, loan specialist specialty codes in the loan specialist field of work, or as a commissioned officer in business and industry classification or business and industry specialty codes in the housing management field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with housing programs on a federal, state or local government level
  • Ability to prepare, analyze, and interpret financial and statistical reports
  • Previous experience with managing a program budget
