     • Central Maryland Regional Office, Baltimore, MD (1 vacancy)

     • Southern Maryland Regional Office, Laurel, MD (1 vacancy)

     • Eastern Maryland  Regional Office, Salisbury, MD (1 vacancy)

     • Western Maryland Regional Office, Hagerstown, MD (1 vacancy)

Main Purpose of Job

Each position requires extensive and expert knowledge of COMAR regulations, nursing standards of practice, Quality Enhancement (QE) and health care trends in order to function as the regional QE nursing expert in the provision of quality health services and individual outcomes. Each position also requires knowledge of DDA Waiver Requirements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A Master’s degree in Nursing or a health-related field from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Five years of experiences as a Registered Nurse including three years of experience in an administrative, supervisory, consultative or teaching capacity.

Notes:1. A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or health-related field from an accredited college or university and two years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an administrative, supervisory, consultative or teaching capacity may be substituted for the required education.

2. A PhD in Nursing from an accredited college or university may be substituted for two years of the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher as a commissioned officer in Nursing classification or Nursing specialty codes in the Nursing field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should have:

- Extensive and expert knowledge of COMAR regulations

- Knowledge of nursing standards of practice

- Knowledge of Quality Enhancement and health care trends

- Knowledge of DDA Waiver Requirements

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1.Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21215.

2.Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
