Main Purpose of Job

RICA-Baltimore is seeking a Director of Nursing, Psychiatric - Residential Services.  This position will serve as the the executive level of nursing to assure leadership and the provision of nursing care and service for severely emotionally disturbed adolescents.  This position will strive to maintain a family-driven youth guided program.  Job duties include:  Providing leadership to the Nursing and Residential Department; Providing expertise to the Executive Board; Assisting the facility with maintaining compliance with Joint Commission requirements; and, assuring staff are able to provide programs and services to meet the needs of the population.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified applicants must possess a master's degree in nursing related field from an accredited college or university and five years of psychiatric nursing experience (as a registered nurse) of which at least three years must have been in a supervisory, teaching or administrative capacity. Qualified candiates must possess a license as a Registered Nurse by the Maryland Board of Nursing. A copy of your current RN license must accompany application.

A bachelor's degree in nursing or related field from an accredited college or university, together with seven years of psychiatric nursing experience (as a registered nurse) of which at least five years must have been in a supervisory, teaching or administrative capacity is also qualifying. A Ph.D. in nursing from an accredited college or university may be substituted for two years of general experience.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21215. A copy of your license, license verification or license number and expiration date must be attached to your application.

SELECTION PROCESS

This is a Management Service position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.  A copy of your resume must accompany your application.
