Main Purpose of Job
This position will review, interpret, verify and utilize Medical Assistance eligibility data to accurately update and maintain the MMIS Recipient Eligibility sub-system and Maryland Health Benefit Exchange in accordance with State and Federally mandated policies and regulations and resolve discrepancies that prevent recipients from receiving Medical Assistance benefits in a timely fashion. This position will also provide customer services to various agencies regarding issues related to Medical Assistance eligibility. This position will act as a liaison with the hospitals, and LDSS regarding all policy and procedural requirements of the MMIS Eligibility File. This position will also access and interpret data in the CARES, MMIS II, HBX and IDB systems.
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Two years of clerical experience applying policies in a medical care, health insurance or federal or State entitlement program.
Notes: 1. Additional general clerical experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. College credits from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the required experience at the rate of 30 credit hours for one year of experience.

The desired candidate should have:
- knowledge and demonstrated application of Medical Assistance policies, regulations, and guidelines
- exercise of discretion and independent judgment directly related to Medical Assistance Program data and situations
