Main Purpose of Job

This position will provide day-to-day supervision for the Maryland Children's Health Insurance Program (MCHP) staff. MCHP is a complex data entry and information retrieval system from state networked computers and state Medicaid eligibility systems.

This position will supervise five staff members, all of whom will input data and assist with clients' inputting data. This position will assure that all staff members follow regulations, in order to determine insurance eligibility accurately.

Finally, this position will review application data for accuracy of MCHP staff data entry, which will be used to determine state medical insurance eligibility.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Four years of clerical experience applying policies in a medical care, health insurance, Federal or State entitlement program, including two years applying, interpreting and processing program-specific information, policies, regulations, and guidelines in a medical care program.

Notes: 1. Additional general clerical experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. College credits from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the required experience, at the rate of 30 credit hours, for one year of experience.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

The selected candidate must have at least 2 years of experience working with screenings and retrieving the information of applicants within the Maryland Children's Health Insurance Program (MCHP).

He/she must also have at least 2 years of experience working in the Systematic Alien Verification System (SAVS), which is used to verify residency and citizenship status through Homeland Security.

Finally, the selected candidate must have at least 2 years of experience working with the Maryland Health Connection/Health Benefits Exchange.
