LOCATION OF POSITION
There are two positions available with Maryland Correctional Enterprises. These positions are located inside of a Correctional Facility working directly with inmates. The addresses for each location are:
JCI Sew Plant, 7800-7899 House of Correction Road, Jessup, MD 20794
ECI Sew Plant, 30420 Revells Neck Road, Westover, MD 21890
Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
-
Trains inmate workers in production methods of a specified product.

Supervises inmate workers in actual performance of the production process from determining raw materials to preparation for shipping.

Train/instruct inmates in proper use of production machinery, draft and make patterns on new products; must be able to determine yardage as necessary.

Inspects work in process, finished goods and maintains acceptable quality standards as determined by the Plant Manager.

Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: One (1) year of experience in the supervision of production line assembly and/or manufacturing.
Notes:
1. Specific educational requirements and other selection standards are set by the Maryland Correctional Training Commission in accordance with Correctional Services Article, Section 8-209 of the Annotated Code and are listed in the Code of Maryland Regulations Title 12, Subtitle 10, Chapter 01.
2. Employees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations 17.04.09, Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in the operations of Textile Production and/or garment construction in the Apparel Industry.

Experience in commercial embroidery services.

Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and MS Office Suite.
