Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
The incumbent is responsible for MCE's on-site warranty repair and customer service program and supervising an inmate work force in the course of his/her daily activities. These duties include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for onsite furniture installation and repair with full independence.
- Trains inmate worker in custom furniture assembly, installation and repair.
- Supervises inmate workers in the performance of warehouse and delivery activities.
- Perform building maintenance to include general repairs, grounds maintenance, painting furniture. repair and assembly etc.
- Schedule customer service appointments.
- Decipher floor plans and shop drawings for customer installations.
- Inspects product damages for the best repair options for customer satisfaction.
The incumbent should be fully versed in all related safety & security procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Four years of experience in building maintenance to include general repairs, grounds maintenance, painting and furniture repair and assembly.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in floor plans and shop drawings for customer installations.
Experience Fire Safety, Equipment Safety and Personal Safety.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Employees who have not already done so must complete and successfully pass the Entrance Level Correctional Training Course required for the Maryland Correctional Training Commission certificate during the probationary period.
Employees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations 17.04.09, Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.
Selected candidate must successfully complete a background investigation.
