Main Purpose of Job
This position serves as the Assistant Director for Administration. This is a key and crucial position that supports the successful delivery of essential services to the residents of Talbot County by ensuring top quality support of agency staff. As the Assistant Director providing oversight to Administrative operations, this position has a direct impact on ensuring successful outcomes that create life enhancing benefits to the most vulnerable populations in Talbot County. This position is a member of the Executive Team and plays a vital leadership role in the agency. Through the performance of their duties, this position has a significant impact on both the agency and the community.
POSITION DUTIES
This position directs critical agency operational functions on a daily basis including but not limited to all the activities of Local Government Administration. This position oversees and manages budget and finance, information technology, procurement, fleet and the agency's physical facility. This position identifies and acts on opportunities with internal and external partners to improve utilization of resources and service delivery to customers. This position develops and maintains agency policy and procedures relating to budget and finance, IT, audit, procurement and all facility operations to include maintenance of a safe and secure environment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited four year college or university.
Experience: Three years experience in a management position, which must have involved supervision of other employees and exercising responsibility of fiscal management.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with government contract management.

Experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management implementing best practices.
LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION
Candidates must be willing to accept employment in Talbot County, which is located on the Eastern Shore of Maryland approximately 60 miles east of the Washington/Baltimore metro areas.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties may be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
