Introduction
This is a MANAGEMENT SERVICES position with the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services. The incumbent serves at the pleasure of the appointing authority.

Main Purpose of Job
This position manages, directs, supervises, leads and guides activities for Operations of the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services, ensuring that all field operations are in compliance with the American Disability Act, in providing services for our inmates, detainees and offenders under the care, custody and supervision. The three divisions responsible for the care, custody and supervision are Division of Correction, Division of Pre-trial and Detention Services, and Division of Parole and Probation. The Program Manager provides guidance, monitoring, and legal review of ADA compliance complaints, and provides guidance to Commissioners and Directors to ensure that inmates, detainees and offenders enjoy the benefits of services and programs as non-disabled inmates, detainees and offenders.
This position evaluates compliance with the mandates outlined in ADA Title II, Part et, Subpart D, 35.152, ensuring that disabled inmates and detainees at the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services correctional and detention facilities and pre-release housing units have an equal opportunity to participate in and enjoy the benefits of services, programs, or activities as non-disabled inmates and detainees.
This position will ensure that disabled offenders under community supervision at the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services field offices have an equal opportunity to participate in and enjoy the benefits of services, programs or activities as non-disabled offenders.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Five years of experience directing, planning and implementing programs, two of which must include experience working with ADA Title II.
