Introduction
This is an INTERNAL RECRUITMENT limited only to the current Employees of Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD).
This is a Management Service position that serves at the pleasure of Appointing Authority.
Work that matters. The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) is a national leader in the financing and development of affordable housing and community development lending. As such, the primary function of the Community Development Administration is to encourage and support homeownership in Maryland. We are good, but strive to be great. The Department of Housing and Community Development Headquarters is located in Prince George's County across from the New Carrollton Metro stop.
POSITION DUTIES
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business or public administration, management, management science or a related field .
Experience: 3 years of experience interpreting Maryland state regulations for compliance and/or managing vendor contracts. Two years of this experience must have involved the supervision of other employees.
Notes:
1. Additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester credit hours on a year to year basis for up to two years of the required general experience.
2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year to year basis for the required education and experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Three years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Emergency preparedness
- Space/planning
- Design management
- Occupational safety and security
- Environmental management
- Facilities management
- Fleet management
- Purchasing/Budgeting
LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
