Main Purpose of Job

This position develops, manages, monitors and evaluates Maryland Department of Health, Behavioral Health Administration's Office of Court-Ordered Evaluations and Placements, including managing the process of court ordered evaluations of individuals within the adult criminal justice system, and the provision of services to court involved individuals by the Behavioral Health Administration. This position establishes uniform standards for forensic evaluations and treatment; coordinates the development of an integrated, cohesive service evaluation and service delivery system that meets the individuals' needs and the needs of the criminal justice system; develops training and consultative services to MDH agencies and other participants of the criminal justice system; develops and implements forensic data collection and analysis; develops policy, reviews legislation and manages fiscal and human resources.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  Possession of a master's degree from an accredited college or university in a behavioral health or human services field, health care management, public administration, or related field of study.

Experience:  Six (6) years of experience providing clinical or case management services to individuals in a health care setting.  At least three (3) years of that experience must be specific to providing services to individuals who are court committed, or involved with the legal/criminal justice system.  At least two (2) years of the total experience must have been at a supervisory or management level.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will possess current professional licensure in a counseling or therapeutic area (i.e., social work, professional counselor, psychologist, addictions), will have knowledge about the public sector Maryland Behavioral Health Care system, and will have experience making data driven decisions in management of health care resources.

This is a Management Service position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.  A resume must accompany your application.
