Introduction
The Office of the State Prosecutor is seeking an investigator, analyst, auditor to assist the office with the investigation and prosecution of criminal activities related to public corruption within the State of Maryland. This position will provide support to attorneys in the investigation and prosecution of various criminal offenses including misconduct in office, bribery, and various election law offenses.
This is a Special Appointment position and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.

POSITION DUTIES
This position provides investigative support for the Office of the State Prosecutor and reports directly to the Chief Investigator. This position is responsible for witness interviews, report writing, research, assistance with trial preparation and other duties deemed necessary to conduct a criminal investigation.
Responsibilities include the seizure and analysis of criminal evidence, particularly financial records, interview of witness, victims and suspects as well as assisting prosecutors with trial preparation and testifying before grand juries and in criminal trials.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university
Experience: Four years of experience in administrative or professional work
Notes:
- Candidates may substitute additional experience in administrative staff or professional work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
- Candidates may substitute additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester credit hours for each year of the required experience.
- Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience conducting detailed investigative work in the following areas: criminal, civil, internal, and /or administrative
- Experience in interviewing, report writing, and research
- Experience handling criminal cases
- Ability to work independently and professionally
