Main Purpose of Job

This position manages supervisors and individuals that collect on delinquent accounts referred to the Central Collection Unit from various Maryland State Government agencies. This position builds and develops the staff through hiring and providing appropriate training opportunities and tools for success. The position requires the incumbent to have the ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively in a busy work environment and have strong oral and written communication skills.

This is a special appointment position that will serve at the pleasure of the appointing authority.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Five years of experience supervising debt collectors or employees in a call center. 

Notes: 

1. Additional experience in administrative staff or professional work may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester credit hours on a year-for-year basis for the required experience. 

3. Administrative staff or professional experience may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four years of the experience.
