Introduction
Maryland Public Television, which is commonly known by its familiar name "MPT", is a public television network that comprises six television stations that broadcast throughout the entire state of Maryland as well as into the District of Columbia and parts of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. MPT is the only statewide broadcaster in Maryland. MPT is a member of the Public Broadcasting Service.

Main Purpose of Job
The Director of Business Affairs for the Content Division reports to the CFO and is responsible for all business activities of the Content Division including budget development and oversight, revenue and expenditure forecasting, ancillary product distribution and fulfillment, revenue sharing, and departmental procurement. This is a supervisory position.
This is a Management Service position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.
POSITION DUTIES

Oversee the organizing, supervising and controlling budgets for the Content division

Work with Producers and Department Managers on budget development

Analyzes budgetary priorities and constraints and makes appropriate recommendations

Monitors revenues and expenditures

Reviews, approves and analyzes periodic and special reports to meet funding source requirements

Completes monthly expenditure and revenue projections

Prepare requests for invoicing for underwriting and Content Division contracts

Monitor Content department contracts for compliance

Track and report all incoming revenue and production expenses

Prepare and distribute revenue sharing statement to co-production and other partners

Track expenses and prepare invoice requests to co-production and other partners

Oversee departmental procurement including invoice approving and corporate purchasing card reconciliations

Manage the on-line store
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university, including or supplemented by three credit hours in auditing.
Experience: Four year of experience examining, analyzing and interpreting accounting systems, records and reports by applying generally accepted accounting principles.
For education obtained outside the U.S., a copy of the equivalent American education as determined by a foreign credential evaluation service must be provided prior to hire.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

One year of experience with State of Maryland Financial Management Information System (FMIS)

One year of supervisory experience

Experience creating and drafting financial reports

Experience in contract monitoring or project management

Experience analyzing monthly expenditures, managing department budgets and appropriations

Experience with Microsoft Office software for word processing and creating spreadsheets
