Introduction

Maryland Public Television, which is commonly known by its familiar name "MPT", is a public television network that comprises six television stations that broadcast throughout the entire state of Maryland as well as into the District of Columbia and parts of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. MPT is the only statewide broadcaster in Maryland. MPT is a member of the Public Broadcasting Service.

Main Purpose of Job

The Managing Director of Digital Fundraising & MPT Passport will manage and oversee growth of the online fundraising and engagement program by creating and implementing effective strategies and techniques via email, website promotions, and other digital methods. This position will provide coordinated leadership of digital fundraising and engagement activities, developing and implementing strategies to support fundraising across the organization. This position is also responsible for leading efforts across digital marketing channels with a focus on developing a cohesive approach across internal business units that result in close internal collaboration and online revenue generation.

 This is a Management Service position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.

POSITION DUTIES

  • Manage mobile marketing initiatives
  • Manage, create and oversee the writing of multiple emails, e-newsletters and MPT Passport emails/appeals
  • Flexible in responding to changes in business priorities; proven ability to work effectively and efficiently under multiple, competing deadlines
  • Bring clarity to ambiguous and/or siloed environments and build collaborative project teams

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing or related field.

Experience: Must have three (3) to six (6) years progressively increasing responsibility in digital marketing and/or fundraising with the understanding or experience of marketing in a nonprofit environment.

The candidate must have experience in developing digital marketing campaigns; web business requirements; data and information systems in addition to extensive experience with a variety of email, web and social media digital platforms such as Luminate Online; Kimbia; Sprinklr; Facebook; Twitter; Instagram and video on demand; working knowledge of HTML and/or WYSIWYG; Adobe Creative, Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop), Microsoft Excel.

For education obtained outside the U.S., a copy of the equivalent American education as determined by a foreign credential evaluation service must be provided prior to hire.

  • Must have strong organizational skills with the ability to problem solve a variety of issues including data sync issues Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to interface with all levels of management is essential
  • Passion for and willingness to advance and maintain MPTs mission and values
  • Ability to create and present presentations
  • Diplomatic, affable personality with excellent interpersonal skills
