Introduction
The Maryland Developmental Disabilities Council, a dynamic, statewide public policy and advocacy organization, is hiring an Administrative Coordinator. The Administrative Coordinator will join a 5-person staff and work with a 30-member council and other partners to support the organization’s mission and improve policies, programs, and practices that impact the lives of Marylanders with developmental disabilities across the lifespan. LOCATION OF POSITION
POSITION DUTIES
The Administrative Coordinator provides overall office management, administrative oversight, and fiscal administration and serves as the first line of contact for the Council to the public. This is the only administrative position for the Council and therefore serves in a critical role completing a wide range of administrative and fiscal duties.
The position duties include reconciling monthly expenditure transactions against invoices and enters monthly financial transactions into Quick Books, assisting the Deputy Director in the preparation of the Council’s budget document for multiple purposes and audiences, involved with preparing monthly requests for federal funds and quarterly Federal Financial Transaction Reports, securing necessary information and procures bids for purchases, preparing purchase requisitions and processes all invoices and grant payments, acting as liaison to the Governor’s Finance Office and responds to questions from Financial Office and vendors, coordinating with other administrative officials to exchange information regarding the Council budget and financial reports, tracking small grants and event sponsorships and prepares summary information for meetings, and preparing other financial reports and analyses as requested.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university
Experience: One year of experience providing administrative and fiscal oversight, including accounting, invoicing, and final record keeping
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute additional experience in administrative staff or professional work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Candidates may substitute additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester credit hours for each year of the required experience
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.

Intermediate/Advanced skills in MS Office programs (Word, Excel)
Intermediate/Advanced skills in Quick Books
