LOCATION OF POSITION
MDH, Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center, Jessup, MD
Main Purpose of Job
This position provides the management level of clinical psychiatric services to patients located in Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center, the State's only Maximum Security Forensic Psychiatric Hospital. Position functions as the sole Director of Clinical/Medical Services and manages and supervises clinical departments and program services to assure the delivery of quality patient care and compliance with standards of accreditation, licensing and regulatory requirements. Duties are performed in the Behavioral Health Administration in a 24/7 facility in central Maryland by licensed and board certified psychiatrists.
Qualified candidates must possess a current Maryland medical license, current Maryland Controlled Dangerous Substance Registration and certification In Psychiatry by the American Medical Association Specialty Board or other Board approved by the Maryland Board of Physicians.
Board Certification in Forensic Psychiatry is preferred.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
1. Applicants must be board certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Medical Specialties, or other Board approved by the Maryland Board of Physicians
2. Applicants must be licensed by the Maryland Board of Physicians to practice medicine under Maryland State Law. A copy of a current Maryland medical license and board certification should be attached to the application.
Employees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations 17.04.09, Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.
This is a Management Service position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority. A resume must accompany your application.
