Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this full-time contractual position is to provide support to the Administrative Care Coordination Unit (ACCU)-Ombudsman (OMB) Grant. The CSP I provides outreach and awareness services to St. Mary’s County Medicaid/MCHP (Maryland Children’s Health Program) recipients via referrals from Managed Care Organizations (MCO’s), Offices of Health Services, Managed Care Administration (MCA) Community Liaison and Care Coordination (CLCC) Division and Complaint Resolution Division, local physicians’ offices, and self-referrals. Home visiting is a requirement for this program and is conducted at times when clients are unable to be contacted by telephone. This position will complete outreach events, assist in coordinating events, preparing and assembling materials for events, schedule event dates and times. This position will interact with private and public entities to identify target populations for referral and create partnerships with organizations. The position will assist with administrative tasks and support the Medicaid programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: None. 

Note:  Candidates may substitute experience providing assistance to individuals in a health care or social services setting on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.

SELECTION PROCESS

Candidates may remain on the certified eligible list for a period of at least one year. The resulting certified eligible list for this recruitment may be used for similar positions in this or other State agencies.

BENEFITS

Contractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.

Leave may be granted to a contractual employee who has worked 120 days in a 12 month period. This leave accrues at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.
