Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to assist the licensed Pharmacists in all aspects, as well as provide clinical, technical and clerical support.
 
Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • filing of patient cassettes
  • assisting with discharge and trial visit medication orders
  • cassette and floor stock supply delivery
  • maintenance of the Docu-Med, pre-packaging of medications, drug ordering and inventory control
  • assisting with clinical and clerical records
  • answering, screening and redirecting telephone calls
  • maintaining physical pharmacy environment (i.e., shredding patient information, stocking shelves with inventory, ordering supplies and safe handling of drugs)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience:  None.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. Candidates for this position must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the Maryland Board of Pharmacy, 4201 Patterson Avenue Baltimore, Maryland 21215.

2. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Employees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations 17.04.09, Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.
