MDH/Talbot County Health Department, Talbot County Family Support Center/Early Head Start Program, Easton, Maryland

Main Purpose of Job

This position will be responsible for the implementation and supervision of the components of the Talbot County Early Head Start Program, including the oversight of home visitation; service coordination; and, child development for enrolled families, in accordance with federal performance standards. This position will also assist with the coordination of activities at the Early Head Start Program Center, as well as participate in both the staffing and the assigning of staff members to center-based activities, as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, Education, Counseling, or a related field.

Notes: 1. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in another field, plus one year of professional experience in health services, may be substituted for the specific degree.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a Commissioned Officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the health-related field of work, on a year-for-year basis, for the required experience and education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should have professional experience with Early Childhood Development, as well as experience working with young children, preferably between the ages of birth to three (3) years old.
