Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to plan, prepare, organize, implement, and evaluate designated training/learning experiences designed to assess, maintain, and/or improve employee competence at Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

 

Experience: Two years of experience planning and conducting employee development and training.

 

Notes: 1. Additional experience in planning, conducting or coordinating training or staff development activities may substitute on a year for year basis for the required education.

 

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in education and training classification or education and training specialty codes in the education and training field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should have experience in the following:

  • acquiring information for career development and advancement, including applying for and receiving appropriate work release time and tuition reimbursement
  • promoting department programs and services to target audiences through a variety of means (i.e., flyers, memos, phone calls, email, face-to-face interaction)
  • in training and development field, relevant techniques, adult learning, organization behavior, etc.
  • interacting and communicating with internal and external customers/groups
  • utilizing adult learning theories and techniques
  • designing and preparing training materials in a variety of formats for presentation
  • presenting and explaining complex and difficult material to a variety of audiences
  • selecting, utilizing and maintaining audio/visual hardware and software, including but not limited to TV, VCR, DVD players, computers (laptops), cameras (analog/digital), projectors, related computer programs.

The evaluation may be a rating of your application based on your education, training and experience as they relate to the requirements of the position. Therefore, it is essential that you provide complete and accurate information on your application. Please report all related education, experience, dates and hours of work. Clearly indicate your college degree and major on your application, if applicable. For education obtained outside the U.S., any job offer will be contingent on the candidate providing an evaluation for equivalency by a foreign credential evaluation service prior to starting employment (and may be requested prior to interview).

Candidates may remain on the certified eligible list for a period of at least one year. The resulting certified eligible list for this recruitment may be used for similar positions in this or other State agencies.
