LOCATION OF POSITION
MDH, Carroll County Health Department, Westminster, MD
Main Purpose of Job
This position will provide professional and administrative leadership for the Bureau of Community Health Nursing at the Carroll County Health Department. Incumbent will plan and administer integrated nursing programs, set priorities, and evaluate budgets through the supervision of an Assistant Director of Nursing, Community Health Nurse Program Supervisors, and non-nurse supervisors.
A master’s degree in nursing or a related field from an accredited college or university and four years of experience as a community health nurse in an administrative, supervisory, consultative or teaching capacity or two years of experience as a community health nurse and three years of experience in an administrative, supervisory, consultative or teaching capacity as a registered nurse.
A bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related field and five years of experience as a community health nurse in an administrative, supervisory, consultative or teaching capacity may be substituted for the required education and experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The successful applicant should possess the following:
Training in medical/clinical services;
Experience in budget preparation, policy development, organization, scheduling and be able to conduct multiple competing priorities; and,
Familiarity with public health systems and services.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4201 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland. A copy of your license or license number and expiration date must accompany your application.
This is a Management Service position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority. A copy of your resume must accompany your application.
