LOCATION OF POSITION
MDH, Developmental Disabilities Administration, 926 Snow Hill Road, Building 100, Salisbury, MD
Main Purpose of Job
This position will provide consultation and technical assistance to Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) Headquarters staff, DDA Regional Office staff, consumers and families, DDA-licensed providers, Coordination of Community Service(CCS) agencies, community health care providers, DDA community nurses and others to ensure the delivery of high quality health care services to people with developmental disabilities living throughout the Region. This position will also develop policies, provide training to DDA provider agencies and nurses regarding the provision of nursing services and is the DDA Regional PASRR Coordinator.
Education: A Master’s degree in Nursing or a health-related field from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Five years of experiences as a Registered Nurse including two years of experience in an administrative, supervisory, consultative or teaching capacity.
Notes: 1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or health-related field from an accredited college or university and two years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an administrative, supervisory, consultative or teaching capacity for the required education.
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university for two years of the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher as a commissioned officer in Nursing classification or Nursing specialty codes in the Nursing field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The desired candidate should have nursing experience with developmental disabilities, knowledge of COMAR regulations, nursing standards of practice and health care trends, working knowledge of DDA waivers and its application to the community.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
1. Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21215 or possess a current multi-state license in party states that candidates have declared as primary states of residence.
2. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
